As part of the new and very exciting Lush Labs we have seen the release of a whole host of exciting shower gels. The first of these new shower gels that I tried was the American Cream shower gel. This is the same scent of the American Cream conditioner which is one of my all time favourite scents. In the past there has been all sorts of products sharing this scent from shower jellies to perfume, but this is the first time I have seen a shower gel in this gorgeous scent. The American cream conditioner is one of my favourite products that I re purchase a lot so I was really excited to try out the shower gel version.

The American Cream shower gel is a beautiful pink colour (although I have seen on instragram that there has been a slight variation in colour). The shower gel contains fresh strawberry juice, vanilla absolute and lavender oil. This creates an incredible scent of a creamy strawberry milkshake. Sometimes in Lush products I find the strawberry scent to be a little chemical and fake but I love the Strawberry scent in the American cream range.

In comparison to some of the current Lush Shower gels I did find the American cream consistency to be quite thin and watery. I always find it it helpful to give the shower gels a good shake before use to make sure sure all the product it’s mixed together properly, but this gel just seems a lot thinner than normal.

The shower gel did lather up very well and created a gorgeous scent when used. I also found the scent did linger very nicely on the skin after use for quite a while aswell which was lovely.

One slightly strange point about this shower gel is that when it sat on the side for a few days it did seem to separate very badly. I have seen this in a Lush shower gel before but not so quickly and not so obvious. It can be solved my shaking the product, but this can be a bit of a pain as it can take quite a while to mix the shower gel back together.

Overall I loved this shower gel, although I’m not sure on the consistency and separating of the product is quite right the scent is amazing and I would love to see this shower gel be released as a full time product.
