Aubergine Soap – Lush Review

I am not a soap fan, never have been and probably never will be. I however still always buy them to try them out and then my partner gets to use them all to himself (he loves Lush soap so it’s a win win). I did shock myself a little when it came to the Valentine’s Day aubergine soap as I was so excited to give it a try that I completely forgot to take any photos of it at all. So sorry for the lack of photos in this review.

The Aubergine soap is a soap version of this year Valentine’s Day bath bomb with the same name. As well as name it also shares the same design and scent, only difference is it’s a soap not a bath bomb.

The scent of the Aubergine soap if that or the 29 high street family. This is one of my all time favourite scents but one that doesn’t seem to pop up very often. The scent is meant to resemble the aroma of walking into a lush store, that wonderful aroma of all the different lush scents coming together all at once. I love it!!! It’s sweet, bitter, musky, sherberty all at the same time, it really is such a special scent and worth a try if you haven’t before.

Apart from the scent there isn’t really anything to special about this soap. It lathers up well and the scent stays nice and strong but isn’t overly moisturising so you are left a little with that squeaky clean feeling. One thing I wasn’t expecting from the soap was for it to be glittery!!! It contains a mega amount of glitter and I must admit it did leave me looking rather like a disco ball. I love glitter but I prefer to be able to wash it off and not for it to cover me completely.

Overall although I love the scent, this isn’t a product I would pick up again in a hurry!! But that’s mainly because I’m not a huge soap fan, so a soap has to be rather spectacular for it to win me over. If you love soap and like to 29 high street scent of aubergine bath bomb I would however recommend giving it a try.
