Golden slumbers is another bath bomb that I picked up whilst a lush Oxford street, although at the moment this is an exclusive product to lush Oxford street after doing some research I did find out that this bath bomb is actually an old concept and has been going for several years but was re released to Oxford street as a re vamped version. If you did fancy trying this bath bomb and can’t get to Oxford street ( I know how far it is for most of us) it is avalible in the lush spa gift set, so if you are feeling indulgent I would recommend purchasing this to give this product a go.
The Oxford street store is full floor to ceiling with wonderful products and displays of bright colours, compared to some of the other Oxford street bath products golden slumbers didn’t exactly stand out and grab my attention. Although it is quite a large bath bomb (about the size of fizzbanger) it is a modest Golden colour and doesn’t have any show off aspects to it at all. But I popped one of these in my basket out of curiosity as I had never tried it before, and at the time I hadn’t actually heard of it before.
Considering its name (golden slumbers) I presumed that this was going to have a very strong lavender scent. But due to the fact I’m really not a lavender fan, I was very please to find that although this product contains lavender, it is not over powering at all. It could almost be described as a natural smell rather than the heavily artificial lavender smell (that I hate so much).
I found golden slumbers listed on the USA website (although This is the old version it gives you the idea) and lush describe it as: A relaxing lavender bath to promote sweeter dreams. Remember how it was to sleep like a baby? Neither did we till the invention of golden slumbers. Leave the sheep behind and relax in a bath with our triple lavender and chamomile fizzed to unwind a restless mind and gently lull you off to sleep.
This description is just perfect and in future I will definay save this bath bomb for nights when I can’t sleep or am feeling extra stressed. As the main ingredients are lavender and camomile this helps to aid a great nights sleep.
As I mentioned earlier this bath bomb doesn’t look anything special so I wasn’t really expecting anything magical once it hit the water. But I’ve defiantly learnt my lesson of not to judge a book by its cover. Once this hit the water and began to fizz away, a beautiful array of golden foam emerged from this bath bomb. It was only then that I realised how glittery this product was (something that I had over looked earlier on) this created a beautiful shimmer to the water (something that I always truly adore), although this product did create an uber sparkly bath time I was surprised to find that it didn’t stick to my skin like some of the other sparkly products avalible.
Overall I was extremely impressed with the product and it did exactly what was on the label and gave me a great nights sleep. Defiantly worth a try if you get the chance.
