At the new Lush Liverpool store there is a whole host of brand new and exciting products! One of the ranges that really interested me was definitely the skincare range. The new skincare products focus very much on being fresh with a lot of them being made in store.
Out of the new skincare product, one that really sparked my interest was the Blue Iris face wash. This product is fresh and packaging free and looks good enough to eat. There are several products in this skincare range that are designed similar to the Blue Iris face wash but the deep blue colour and gorgeous scent is what made me gravitate towards that one.
In store the fresh face washes including the Blue Iris Face wash are sold by weight. The price sign by the product reads £15 which was causing quite a lot of confusion in store, as it made it look like that was the price of the single product. But that price is in-fact for 100g which makes each slice of jelly roughly £4-5.
The Blue Iris face wash is in a jelly format and held in a slice of lemon peel which becomes its packaging. You use this face wash in a very similar way to how you would use a shower jelly. Simply pinch a small amount off and add water to create a lather. You can then use this lather to wash you face with. Due to how fresh this jelly is it does need to be kept in the fridge and it is recommend to be used within 21 days.
What I loved the most about the face wash was its very fresh and uplifting scent. Containing a good helping of eucalyptus and soothing Iris the aroma is incredibly uplifting perfect to wake you up in the morning.
After use my skin felt very soft and nourished. It was a little difficult to use as I kept dropping the small amount that I had pinched off the product, so maybe using the jelly as a whole would be an easier method.
Overall I really enjoyed the concept of this product. Obviously it is not the most travel friendly due to its lack of packaging and having to be kept in the fridge, but it is a great product for every day use. I love to see all of the unique concepts that lush come up with and this is a great way to get rid of packaging but still creating a brilliant product.

This is so cool! It looks like a jelly candy. I was just at Lush in the US and we don’t have these yet, but maybe in the future.
