I have always been a huge fan of a Lush body scrub, I also always seem to love the products that aren’t your regular bath bombs and shower gels, I like something that is a little different.
This Valentine’s Day Lush have released the Love Island body scrub, which is a solid scrub. Solid scrubs are great as they have absolutely no packaging. However I have found that it is easier to keep them in a pot once using, to stop them getting too damp. I tend to re use one of my old black lush pots to store my solid scrubs in.
The scent of the Love Island scrub is incredible. It shares its scent with the much loved Love scent which was the scent of one of my favourite bath bomb the fizzbanger (now discontinued). This scent is a lovely zingy citrusy spicy apple scent. Containing lemon grass and bergamot oil the scent it very uplifting and refreshing.
The Love Island scrub is very small in size, it would have been nice if it was a little larger. To use it is easiest to pinch a small amount of the scrub and then use this to buff the skin with. If you are using the scrub for a full body exfoliation you with probably only get about 2 uses out of this scrub. If you are a little more sparing it will last a little longer.
The scrub contains Sand, sea salt and sugar. I do love the fact this scrub does not contain any butters as I find these types of scrubs a little greasy for my skin. Although with out the addition of butter the scrub is a little harsher. If you like a rough scrub you will love the Love Island. If your skin is a little more sensitive (like mine) just be a careful as it may be a little to harsh for you. I found that the addition of a tiny amount of water made the scrub a lot more comfortable to use for skin compared to if I used the scrub dry (but onto wet skin). If you are going to add a touch of water just make sure you do not add it to the whole scrub otherwise it will dissolve very quickly and you will only get one use out of your scrub.
Overall this scrub is brilliant, I love the harshness of the scrub can be tailored to how you like it just by adding a touch of water. I also love the scent and love how much the scent lingers onto the skin after use. My only downside to this scrub is it’s size and how quickly it can be used up.
