Never Mind the Ballistics Bath Bomb – Lush Review

When it comes to the Lush Christmas range it is always super exciting to try out and explore all the brand new releases. Out of the vast amount of brand new products this year the one that really caught my eye was the brightly coloured Never Mind the Ballistics bath bomb. Inspired by the Sex Pistols album cover which has a very similar name, this bath bomb is a delight to look at and will add a touch of sunshine to any gloomy winters day.
When it comes to Christmas products you would normally find a whole host of cinnamon and warm winters scents! It is therefore very refreshing to find Lush release a variety of scents in their Christmas releases. The Never Mind the Ballistics is a very fresh and fruity bath bomb. Containing lime and wild orange oil this bath bomb is a lot less zesty than I was expecting. Instead it is a very sweet fruity scent. Each bath bomb also contains an entire fresh banana which give the bath bomb a lovely creamy element to its scent.

Now you may have noticed that the Never Mind the Ballistics bath bomb looks a little different to your average bath bomb. This is because this is a dipped bath bomb. A dipped bath bomb is a rather new method that Lush have started to use and was first seen in the Mother’s Day Roller bath bomb. Basically once the bath bomb is set it is dipped into a mixture of cocoa butter which created a bath melt on the outer shell of the bath bomb which creates a very unique bath bomb.

Once popped in the water the bath bomb fizzes away rather quickly. As it fizzes and rolls the outer butter shell slowly melts releasing its moisturising goodness into the water. This mixture of bath bomb and bath melt creates a very exciting display in the tub as the bath bomb spews spirals of creamy yellow across the surface of the water, followed by a layer of colourful pink buttery oil. Once the bath bomb reaches its core it releases more sweet smelling colour to the mixture.

Overall I really do love the Never Mind the Ballistics bath bomb. I really love the inclusion of the dipped butter outer shell. It adds just the right amount of moisture to the water without making you feel to greasy. The scent really is wonderful as well and I know this will be a product I will be stocking up on over the Christmas season.
