The Big Sleep Jelly Bomb – Lush Review

It is always very exciting when Lush release new products, it is even more exciting when Lush release a brand new invention that has never been seen in stores before.

As part of this years summer range Lush have released a range of Jelly Bath Bombs! Yes that’s right Jelly bath bombs!!! These bath bombs are a brand new concept, which were first seen as a preview at the Lush Summit earlier on in the year.

The Jelly bomb looks just like your average bath bomb in terms of size and shape. The only aspects from the appearance of these bath bombs that makes them look any different is there are lots of little blobs all around the edge.

The Big Sleep Jelly bomb is a beautiful relaxing green colour with blue detail. At the top of the bath bomb is an intricate moon shape adding the perfect finishing touch to the design of this jelly bomb.

Now if you love products with the Twilight scent or the Oxford street exclusive golden slumbers bath bomb, you are going to love this product. Containing lavender oil and Tonka absolute the scent of The Big Sleep jelly bomb is beautifully relaxing and calming. It doesn’t quite share the same scent with the twilight range but is almost like a hybrid between the scent of the golden slumbers bath bomb and the twilight scent. This Big Sleep also contains a good helping of neroli which is great for helping to raise your mood. If your looking for a product that will create the ultimate relaxing bath time or something to help you drift off to sleep then this is defiantly the product for you.

Although the design of this bath bomb is wonderful the real fun starts when the jelly bomb is put in the water. At first this bath bomb gently fizzes as it releases a wave of blue colour across the water. When the bath bomb reaches its centre this is where the ingredients form the jelly are. As this dissolves a teal green jelly disperses across the surface of the water. The jelly is quite slimy and very thin so it almost creates a film across the surface of the water. The jelly contains a whole host of skin softening ingredients making it extremely luxurious and moisturising.

The consistency did take a little while to get use to and felt a little strange at first, but it actually feels very relaxing. I also think this would be a fabulous product for children as it would make bath time very fun indeed.

The jelly had completely dissolved by the end of my bath time and I was very happy to find that it did not leave any marks on the bath and wasn’t slippy when existing the bath.

Overall I really enjoyed the concept of this bath bomb, it’s very fun to use and the Big Sleep is extremely relaxing. The scent is gorgeous and created a wonderful aroma in the bathroom. I will defiantly be buying the Big Sleep jelly bomb again and I am very excited to try the other jelly bombs in this range.
