Solid shampoos are an item from Lush that I have never really given much attention to. It isn’t that I don’t like the concept of them, In fact I think the idea of a completely packaging free product is brilliant. It is more that I just find something about a liquid shampoo a little more satisfying (I have no idea why).
However when I saw that the Smugglers Soul solid shampoo was making an appearance again this father’s Day I thought it was time to bite the bullet and give a shampoo bar a go.
Firstly the scent of this shampoo is gorgeous. The Smugglers Soul scent makes quite an appearance in the Father’s Day range with a moisturiser and facial scrub all sharing the same scent.
With sandlewood as one of it main ingredients the scent is warm and woody creating a wonderful smokey intoxicating fragrance . The shampoo bar itself actually has a very strong fragrance and I was little unsure if it was going to leave a very heavy scent on my hair, however this is not the case at all. Once used it leaves a soft subtle scent which last through out the day giving you gentle bursts of fragrance as the day goes by.
This shampoo bar also contains a good helping of rosewood which helps to care for the scalp and lemongrass to add shine to your hair. Making this a wonderfully helpful product.
The concept of a shampoo bar is brilliant, one bar last for the same time as 2-3 bottles. The solid bar also means that it is brilliant for travel. It takes up very little space in your luggage and you can also take it on a plane. The solid shampoo bar is also completely packaging free. After use just pop it somewhere to dry or Lush actually have little reusable tins which are perfect for keeping and traveling your shampoo bar in.
To use the bar you can either rub it straight on to your hair to create a lather or rub it between you hands and then rub the lather in to you hair. I was really worried that it wasn’t going to give me the same feeling as using a liquid shampoo. However the bar lathers up very quickly and I was super surprised at just how much it made. The bar made my hair feel very very clean and the scent is just beautiful. I’m very excited about trying all of the other scents that Lush have in a solid shampoo bar forms.
Have your tired any of the solid shampoos?
Which one should I try next?
