Dirty Shaving Cream – Lush Review

So for the past few weeks I’ve had to use conditioner as a replacement for a shaving foam,as I totally ran out and every time I’ve been to the shops I’ve totally forgot to pick some up.

Therefore when I went to pick up some of the new Father’s Day goodies from Lush, I was incredible pleased that this included a shaving cream as it meant I could finally stop wasting my condition.

I guess the the main intention of the Dirty shaving cream is for men when they are shaving. However Lush are all about the inclusion of everyone and none of their products are designed for the sole purpose of one kind of person. Therefore this shaving cream is perfectly fine for us girlies to use when shaving our legs.

I have tried a few of the other Lush shaving creams in the past but I have never been much of a fan, mainly due to the fact that every time I’ve used these products they have ended up completely blunting my razor blade. As well as this being annoying razor blades are rather expensive, and I’m not a fan of only getting one use out of them.

I was therefore quite intrigued to find out if the same thing was going to happen with the Dirty shaving cream. The first thing that I noticed when I opened my tub was that the concistency was a lot different to some of the other shaving creams I had tried. The Dirty shaving cream seemed to be a lot thinner and had more of a creamy less waxy consistency. I was very pleased to find that this consistency change made so much difference and the product did not clog up my razor in any way (yay).

When reading about some of the ingredients included in the Dirty shaving cream I found that the product contained oat milk, which is soothing on irritated skin. This is amazing for me as I have fairly sensitive skin which loves to create a nice razor rash when ever I’m planning on wearing a dress. So any product that helps to calm my skin is very much appreciated. It also contains an array of butters, oils and honey which all help to add moisture and to soften the skin.

The scent of the Dirty shaving cream wasn’t quite what I was exspecting. As it is part of the Father’s Day range I really did think it was going to have a stereotypical manly scent. However I was pleasantly pleased to find it was quite the opposite and instead has a very subtle, rather natural scent. Although very muted you can still notice a pleasant scent which has elements of the much loved gorilla perfume Dirty . The fragarnace is a woody scent containg sandlewood, lavender and Tonka. Although lovely during use after use due to stutleness I couldn’t really pick up on the scent at all.

Overall I was super impressed with this product and I’m now going to have to stock up on a few pots to last me throughout the year.
