I am loving my quest to find my ultimate lush haircare products. It had so far been lots of fun trying out different products and I have also found a few gems that I would never have thought I would love.
Over that last year my hair has had a rapid growth spurt and is now pretty long. I never use to be a big conditioner person as I found it made my hair quite greasy, but I now adore the stuff and find it a necessity for my easily tangled hair. This meant the the range of lush conditioners was one of the product types that I was most looking forward to trying.
Happy Happy Joy Joy is not an ordinary conditioner. lush describe it as a conditioning hair perfume. containing almond milk, jojoba oil, neroli oil, grapefruit oil, rose and orange flower waters. This conditioner is designed cheer you and others up as your hair catches on the breeze enveloping you in its uplifting fragrance.
The Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner is pretty pricey with a 100g bottle costing £9.75 and a 490g bottle costing £31.95 . For this reason I would say that this conditioner is defiantly more of a luxury product and I personally wouldn’t use it as my every day conditioner. I would instead save it for if I was going out and special occasions.
When using this conditioner I found that it was a very light conditioner. Although this is brilliant in the respect that it doesn’t weigh your hair down, I found that it really wasn’t conditioning enough for my hair and also found my hair to be very tangled after using it.
Scent wise this product does exactly what it says on the bottle and adds a subtle perfume to the hair that can be smelt continually throughout the day. I could still pick up on the scent several days after washing my hair. I personally am however not a fan of the scent at all. It smells very floral and reminds me of wild flowers and cottage gardens. This type of scent personally just isn’t my type of scent but if you like your floral scents I can see this product being lovely or you.
Overall I was quite disappointed with this product and wouldn’t be rushing to buy it again. This is mainly due to the price which I feel is a little high for me and also due to the fact I don’t really like the scent. I also don’t think this conditioner works great for my hair type. I however love the idea of the product and it would be lovely to see some other hair perfumes in different scents.
