Roses all the way Soap

“Painting the roses red
,
 We’re painting the roses red
We dare not stop
 Or waste a drop
So let the paint be spread.
We’re painting the roses red,
Yes, painting the roses red,
 Not pink
 Not green
  Not aquamarine
We’re painting the roses red!”

This year as part of the Valentine’s Day range lush have produced a beautiful soap called ‘Roses all the way’, Inspired by Alice’s adventures in wonderland (Alice in wonderland) by Lewis Carroll.

last year marked the 150th anniversary of this magical children’s book, that Is loved by many, so I thought it was very fitting that lush have brought a product out that is inspired by this classic novel.

In the story the queen of hearts makes her card servants paint all of the white roses red and it was this part of the story that inspired lush to create this soap.
Shaped like a heart shaped rose, the detail that has gone in to making this soap is amazing. I also really loved that this soap isn’t displayed like normal soaps are in store and you don’t have to get a piece cut from a large block. You can I fact go and pick your own rose, as all the little individual roses are displayed on a leaf green block, making the product look like a little rose bush. I thought this added a lovely little element of fun to the product and was a great touch.

The scent of this soap is of course rose scented. I guess you can’t really have a soap that shaped like a rose and doesn’t have any connections scent wise. Containing rose oil and rose syrup this soap has a very soft and gentle rose scent and isn’t over powering at all. Personally I am not really a fan of rose scented items, but I totally adore this scent. I think it’s is a very romantic and beautiful smelling product.

As I mentioned early this product is inspired by the painting the roses red section from the book and this is exactly what lush have done. When you use this soap the red colour slowly fades away over time to reveal a beautiful creamy white rose. The soap lathers up very well and creates a rich soap sudd which glides over the body with ease.

Now I am not really much of a fan of soap and I tend to hardly ever use them. My partner however is a huge fan and just can’t get enough of the lush soaps. However he was extremely shocked when I brought this soap for myself and I am so glad that I did. It has really sparked a love for soap in me and I have now gone out and brought a couple of other soaps to try out.
Overall I am so impressed with the this soap. I love it’s design and concept so so much. The scent is so romantic and soft and it leaves you skin smelling beautifully of roses. If you haven’t already I highly recommend going and getting yourself one of these while they are still around.

Top tip- rather than buying online, if you can pop into store and go and pick your own rose.
