Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb – Lush Review

We all live in a yellow submarineYellow submarine, yellow submarine.

We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

As a Liverpool Lushie I was super excited when I first saw at the 2017 Lush Summit that Lush would be releasing a bath bomb based on the famous Beatles song Yellow Submarine. Liverpool is the birth place of the Beatles and everywhere you look in the city you will find some reference to them. Lush are also huge fans of the Beatles and several products in the past have been released inspired by them including a spa treatment called Hards Days Night.

The design of the Yellow Submarine bath bomb is incredible. Shaped like the iconic yellow submarine this bath bomb instantly reminded me of bath times as a child, when I’d have an assortment of toys in the bath to keep my occupied including a little yellow submarine which would whizz through the water. I’ve always been a huge fan of a bath bomb with a quirky design but this has defiantly got to be my favourite design to date.

The scent of the bath bomb is quite different to anything that I have tried before from Lush. Containing Brazilian Orange Oil, Coriander Seed Oil and Lemongrass Oil the Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb has a scent that reminds me of summer days. Defiantly more tropical than fruity this scent is bright, uplifting and very fresh. There is a slight creaminess to this scent as well that reminds me of summer cocktails.

Once popped in the water the Yellow Submarine bath bomb instantly starts to foam. It creates a huge cloud of foam which the reminder of the bath bomb sits in. The Submarine then floats around the surface of the water producing a trail of yellow and pink foam in it wake.

This bath bomb is a super slow fizzer and takes a very very long time to fully dissolve. The Yellow Submerine does not produce much of a display in the water however if you have children or are young at heart like me it can be used to do little races with in the bath, you can see how long it takes to get from one end of the bath to the other.

Overall I have really enjoyed this bath bomb. I adore the design and the inspiration behind the Yellow Submarine bath bomb and the summery tropical scent is just beautiful.
